Bits and bobs

Maksymilian is over five years old, but from time to time (or maybe more often:) he still surprises us with his funny toddler "logic." Most of the time, it's a result of his vivid imagination, but very often, it involves translations between English and Polish that his little mind has to perform.

One winter evening, after the snowy prince took a shower, I put on his bathrobe and started drying his hair so that he wouldn't get cold. Since I don't like to waste time, I suggested that he brush his teeth while I was doing that. However, my little knight, with a concerned expression, turns to me and says that maybe I should do it because "bang," Mom, I don't have little hands, hiding them in the slightly too-long sleeves of the bathrobe :)

During his visit, our grandparents bought him a plush dog in a kennel, which he had liked for quite some time. Maksymilian took the dog in his hands and asked, "Mom, why does this dog always have its tongue out?" My son watches rugby matches with his dad (which is a joke in itself for me, but I haven't quite grasped what football is, and they've already switched to rugby:) and if his team "The Roosters" isn't playing, Maks decides to support some other team only after the break. Why? - Well, I have to check who has more points, MOM!!!

Today, after school, we talked about what they did during the day, and Maksus tells me how the teacher, while practicing counting and sets with the children, checked what color eyes the children had and classified them into appropriate "sets." So I asked my son what color set he was assigned to, as so far, his eyes haven't decided on one color and bravely share between green (after dad) and brown (after mom). To this, my son replied, "brown" because he has brown eyes since he looks at me more often than at dad because dad always works, and he only sees him on Saturdays and Sundays. :)
